CEC Draw: IRCC Issues 4,000 Invitations in June 23, 2026 Express Entry Round
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new CEC draw on June 23, 2026, issuing 4,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence through Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class.
The lowest-ranked candidate invited had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 516. IRCC applied a tie-breaking rule of April 14, 2026, at 00:03:10 UTC. This means that candidates with a CRS score of 516 were invited only if they had submitted their Express Entry profile before that date and time, subject to IRCC’s normal processing of eligible profiles.
The draw was limited to candidates eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), a federal economic immigration program for skilled workers with qualifying Canadian work experience. The CEC is managed through the Express Entry system, which ranks eligible candidates using their CRS score. A candidate’s score may reflect factors such as age, education, official-language ability, skilled work experience, and other selection factors.
An ITA is an important step, but it is not an approval of permanent residence. Candidates invited in this round must submit a complete application and demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the Canadian Experience Class, as well as Canada’s general admissibility requirements. The documents submitted must support the information declared in the Express Entry profile.
How the June 23 CEC draw compares
The June 23, 2026 CEC draw issued more invitations than the previous Canadian Experience Class round on May 27, when IRCC invited 3,000 candidates with a CRS cut-off of 518.
The latest result also followed several CEC-focused rounds earlier in 2026. On April 28, IRCC issued 2,000 invitations with a minimum CRS score of 514. Another CEC draw on April 14 issued 2,000 invitations at a CRS cut-off of 515. On March 31, IRCC invited 2,250 candidates with a CRS score of at least 509.
The June 23 round therefore represented both a higher number of invitations and a slightly lower cut-off than the May 27 CEC draw. However, Express Entry draw results can change from round to round. The number of invitations, the category selected, the composition of the candidate pool, and IRCC’s operational decisions can all affect future cut-off scores.
Candidates should be careful not to treat a single draw as a prediction of the next one. A CRS score that was sufficient for one CEC draw may not be enough for a later round, and a score below the latest cut-off does not by itself necessarily mean that an invitation is unlikely.
Key steps for candidates invited in this CEC draw
Candidates who received an ITA should first review their Express Entry profile carefully against the information they plan to submit in their permanent residence application. Work history, job duties, dates of employment, language-test results, education credentials, family information, travel history, and prior immigration applications should be accurate and consistent.
Invited candidates generally have 60 days to submit their electronic application for permanent residence through their IRCC account. Supporting evidence may include reference letters, proof of qualifying work experience, identity and civil-status documents, police certificates, medical-examination information, and other documents requested by IRCC.
Applicants should also ensure that their claimed Canadian work experience meets the legal and program requirements for the Canadian Experience Class. A job title alone is not determinative. The work must be properly classified under the National Occupational Classification system and supported by evidence showing that the applicant performed the required duties.
